Diabetic Clinic

Diabetes affects nearly two million people in the UK, with up to 750,000 more believed to have it without realising they do.

Our diabetic teamwork with all our diabetic patients to monitor their progress and help them to control their blood sugar levels, and any of the complications that arise as a result of having diabetes.

All diabetic patients will also be referred for Diabetic Retinal Screening. This is very much like an eye test at the opticians and is a good indicator of how serious their condition is.

How is Diabetes Diagnosed?

A urine test will initially show whether you have high sugar levels. Further Blood tests will then be required in order to confirm whether you, in fact, have Diabetes. If the results come back as positive, you will be referred to the Diabetic Team for specialist support to manage your condition.
