Stratford Village Surgery uses Online Triage to assess all appointment requests. 
Why have we introduced a new online Triage Service?
In a standard appointment system there are some on the day urgent appointments, a limited number of phone appointments, then routine appointments with a waiting time that is often 3-4 weeks. This means long waits for problems that should be dealt with sooner, and some people being turned away without their problem being addressed.
How to use Online Triage?
Please use the link above to open the page. In the search bar please type in a key word of your symptom. This will give you a choice of forms to use with advice and specific questions for you to complete so the doctor is best informed on how to support you best.
If you cannot find a form for the symptoms you have then please fill in the the " Consult with a doctor Form" 

A doctor reads all incoming forms and our target is to deal with all requests within 48 Hours or sooner.

  • More urgent problems can be identified and dealt with urgently almost always on the same day with a call or an appointment.

  • Simple requests that need telephone advice (or other information to be provided) can be addressed promptly.

  • Symptoms that can be assessed and treated in particular clinics (e.g. by our nurse practitioners or clinical pharmacists) can be booked with the right person.

  • Complex Problems are booked to see a doctor sometimes with extra time.

Those who cannot do online forms because of difficulty with English, with reading or writing, or with using online forms (on their phone or computer) can contact reception for assistance, and will be supported to complete the forms.


Online systems are not suitable for emergencies or the most urgent problems: in an emergency call 999, for an urgent problem call 111 or call the surgery.


We have urgent on the day appointments for vulnerable patients like children under 2, elderly, disabled or mentally ill

In addition their is an extended hours service provided by Newham GP Coop at other sites in Newham.


* Please note that Stratford Village Surgery does not use Patient Access for appointment bookings - this is purely for access to notes and results. 

We have 8 phone lines.  Monday mornings in particular are very very busy. 
If you are unable to get through on the phone, and your query is not urgent, please click on the online link above to see if it would be easier for you to contact us using the new online services offered there.  They are being added to all the time so keep checking! 

If you need to see a Doctor urgently and cannot get through to us on the phone, please call NHS 111.  Depending on the situation, the NHS 111 team can connect you to a nurse, emergency dentist or GP, and can arrange face-to-face appointments if they think you need one.  NHS 111 advisers can also assess if you need an ambulance and send one immediately if necessary.

Extended Hours - Pre booked appointments available via GP Co-Op at Stratford Village Surgery are Mondays & Thursdays from 18:30 - 21:00 and Saturdays 09:00 - 13:00.
